Out of the past. Into the present.

Out of the past. Into the present.

Jenn Bentley (dairy science) grew up on the Stacyville dairy farm her father and brothers still operate. There, she learned dairy production is a labor intensive way of life for many families.

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences helped fill in the rest. Courses led by faculty at the cutting edge of research that will change the way producers and industries operate in the future and hands-on laboratory experiences taught Jenn the science behind what she already knew.

Today, she uses her skills to connect dairy families to local and Iowa State University resources and education through her position with ISU Extension. Jenn facilitates a young dairy producer peer learning group, initiating good conversations that support families committed to the lifestyle. Understanding these hardships allows her to introduce the many benefits of automation and robotics and the ways it can improve cow management and production.
